What I did:
Since I have found my weaknesses in English, I decided to handle them one by one. Firstly, I logged in the website ‘www.vocabulary.com’ to practice and learn more new words.

What I learned:

New words:
Back burner-----reduced priority
Spark----- is a verb that means to put in motion or move to act.
Chime in----- is a verb (not really) that means to break into a conversation.
Backlash----- is a noun that means an adverse reaction to some political or social occurrence.
Spunky----- is an adjective that means showing courage. (spirited)
Exorcism is a noun that means freeing from evil spirits.
Metastasize -----is a verb that means to spread throughout the body.
Scary-----is an adjective that means provoking fear terror.
Ecstasy-----is a noun that describes a feeling or state of intensely beautiful bliss.
Compound----- is a verb that means combine or mix two or more things.
Schizophrenia-----is a noun that means a psychotic disorder characterized by distortions of reality.
Noxious is an adjective that means injurious to physical or mental health.
Normality is a noun that means being within certain limits that define the range of normal functioning.
Ferocious is an adjective that means marked by extreme and violent energy.
All the words above were what I learnt during this period. In fact, I think it will take me a long time to memorize and exert some of the difficult words.

  2. Its good that you are learning some new words and typing it out here, not only informs others about the words, but it also helps you to further remember the words. Like what Raymond said, listing out the words to learn, won't be as effective as writing out the word with a sentence as it not only teaches you the meaning but also how to use the word in a sentence.

  3. You have done a good job of listing down all the new words you have learnt. Its good as you have labelled them. If you do label them, please label all of them and not half of them. Also you should put multiple meanings to the word as Ecstasy has different meanings. It could mean a drug which is prohibited in Singapore. It could also mean that you are in a daze or a feeling.
